If you’ve ever enjoyed a burger at East Dallas’ Goodfriend Beer Garden and Burger House, you’ve likely been disappointed to discover it wasn’t open for lunch. Not even on weekends.

But no more! As of today at 11 a.m., Goodfriend will be open for lunch Friday to Monday. SideDish broke the news late last month. The restaurant will roll out a new menu to go along with their new hours.

The move is one way they’re ensuring they sell more food than alcohol to comply with the zoning for their zip code. So it’d be nice if you ordered more food than beers, at least at the lunch hour. If you can’t do that, at least bring along a few friends to balance your drinks out.

If you’re across town, you can also add Chino Chinatown to your list, as they opened for lunch service this month as well. I can’t speak to their beer selection, but LUCK is nearby.

In related Goodfriend news, owners Matt Tobin and Josh Yingling’s other project, The Blind Butcher, opened its kitchen last night to serve its many specialty meats. Enjoy!
