As a big soccer fan, Michael Peticolas has toyed with the idea of creating a beer for FC Dallas, but sadly, FC Dallas hasn’t responded to his proposal. In the meantime, he’s settled on releasing a beer in honor of this year’s World Cup.

Thrilla in Brazilla, a 7.5% ABV American IPA, will be released June 12 to bars and pubs with a match watching party for the first match of the World Cup, Brazil versus Croatia.

Peticolas describes the latest beer in the announcement blog post:

Thrilla in Brazilla is gold in color with a tight white head of foam. The fruity-ester aroma is high to very high. Hop aroma is further characterized by high amounts of citrus with a slightly resinous character in the background. The aroma follows through to the taste with citrusy characters dancing on the palette, including the presence of fresh oranges. Thrilla is a medium bodied beer with medium high hop bitterness. As always, this beer is balanced.

More bars and beer establishments will receive Thrilla after the initial release, and Peticolas says it should be available until July 12. Play it safe and find it early so you don’t miss your chance to try this latest brew from Peticolas.

Where will you be watching the first match of this year’s World Cup? Will they have Thrilla on tap?
